Armand J. Elbaz
Armand’s practice focuses mainly on civil and commercial litigation, commercial law, immigration law, matrimonial law, libel and latent defects lawsuits, disciplinary law and intellectual property law. His practice is international, having dealt in various countries such as China, Chile and Russia and countries in Africa. In his immigration law practice, Armand represents clients at the application stage as well as in any hearings before the Immigration Commission and the Federal Court. He teaches Immigration law at the college level. He is also a certified mediator. More recently, Armand obtained injunctive relief on behalf of a municipality against the Quebec government in a high-profile environmental case that has prevented the clear-cutting of a forest.
Armand was called to the Quebec Bar in 1981. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree from l’Université de Caen (France), a Master’s degree in Education from McGill University and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Montreal.
Armand is fluent in both French and English.
